The Ukraine is conducting a full review of its government computer systems following claims that Kiev’s main airport was subject to network attacks, according to Reuters.

The discovery, made over the weekend, follows the successful placement of malware on Ukraine’s power systems that ultimately led to a blackout.

While it’s worrying that the attack was on the same network as the airport’s air traffic control processes, according to the report, it was caught early and no damage was done.

As with the power station malware, there are indications that Russian hackers could be behind the attack, though there’s no suggestion from Ukraine or definitive proof of this.

Ukraine’s cybersecurity response unit advised system administrators to check log-files and traffic sources thoroughly.
